San Agustin
Gran Canaria

San Agustin Gran Canaria - was the first tourist resort to be built in the 70's. Then came Playa del Ingles which is slightly further south and then Maspalomas.

As most of the new development has happened further south this resort has kind of been left behind. It does not attract was many holidaymakers as other resorts because of the lack of attractions. And that's its attraction …

San Agustin is much more peaceful and relaxing than its neighbouring Playa del Ingles, which is literally just round the corner. This is the place to come to if you want to relax and not go out drinking at night. Here you'll find the 5* Hotel Melia Tamarindos Hotel Gran Canaria.

Its Beach

San Agustin beach is not as extensive as Playa del Ingles nor as Maspalomas. This 670m long and 70m wide beach is great for people trying to get away from crowded areas.

It's also a protected bay which makes it a much better place for snorkeling and scuba diving.

And if you get tired of this beach you can just walk over to Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas along it long promenade along the coast.

Moving Around

If you're going to rent a car just drive down the main motorway the CG-1 and turn right as if you were going to Playa de Ingles (Km 43). That gets you on the GC-500 and the C-812.

Directions from here are is very well signposted…and as long as you're not speeding it's impossible to miss them.
